Research Associate – Health Data Science

About the role

The Department of Informatics and Health Data Science at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Research Associate 1 to work onsite at the UHealth campus. The role supports Dr. Chung by providing high‑quality research assistance, literature reviews, reference management, and project coordination to enable first‑author publications and grant success.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret research protocols and procedures and ensure compliance with good research practice.
• Conduct literature reviews, manage references, and assist with manuscript preparation.
• Organize project timelines, track deliverables, and coordinate administrative tasks.
• Collect, prepare, and analyze data, including statistical analysis of laboratory results.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine assays and tests.
• Maintain an overview of relevant research findings and stay current with methodological developments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Prior research or administrative experience preferred.
• Familiarity with academic publishing and reference‑management tools strongly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.
