Research Associate 3 – Social Research Evaluation

About the role

The Research Associate 3 will support program evaluation, grant writing, and research dissemination for the College of Human Sciences & Education Social Research Evaluation Center. This position requires strong analytical abilities, statistical expertise, and effective communication with diverse stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee program evaluations and research projects, develop protocols, design quantitative and qualitative methodologies, and manage project databases.
• Conduct data collection through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and site observations, and perform both quantitative and qualitative analyses.
• Prepare and submit evaluation and research reports to funders and stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Develop grant proposals and evaluation‑related content for government, nonprofit, and foundation RFPs, coordinating with the Office of Sponsored Research.
• Present research findings to multiple audiences, contribute to scholarly publications, and stay current on professional standards and trends.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a social science discipline (e.g., Social Work, Education, Psychology) with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and critical‑thinking skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Statistical analysis using SPSS, STATA, R, or SAS.
• Data handling and querying with SQL.
• Programming or scripting experience in Python.
• Data visualization using Tableau.
