Pediatric Visiting Professor (Overnight)

About the role

The Pediatric Visiting Professor (Overnight) will mentor nursing students in a clinical setting, focusing on family‑centered care for children from infancy through adolescence. This part‑time position offers a flexible overnight schedule (1900‑0700) and the opportunity to shape future nurses.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an approved Covista syllabus aligned with campus templates and terminal course objectives.
• Organize, prepare, and regularly update all course materials, using online technologies and course‑related software.
• Model effective oral and written communication, set clear expectations, and publish assignment and examination dates.
• Ensure exam content aligns with course objectives, grade consistently and fairly, and provide timely feedback.
• Mentor students during clinical skill demonstrations and promote multidisciplinary teamwork.

Required profile

• Master's degree with at least 18 graduate hours in the subject being taught.
• Subject‑matter expertise in pediatric nursing and outstanding communication skills.
• Motivational and instructional abilities in a diverse, non‑traditional environment.
• Ability to work collegially and facilitate diverse group efforts.

Required skills

• Proficiency with online course platforms, email, and discussion forums.
• Experience in developing syllabi, course materials, and assessments.
