About the role
The University of Miami seeks a Research Associate 2 (GAB) to support its scientific investigations. Working under senior staff, you will conduct complex experiments, manage specimens, and contribute to scholarly publications.
Key responsibilities
- Perform specialized and complex laboratory experiments.
- Collect, prepare, analyze, and evaluate tissue cultures and specimens.
- Weigh and anesthetize laboratory animals for experimental procedures.
- Operate sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.
- Conduct calculations and document research test results.
- Perform photography and dark‑room processing for research documentation.
- Participate in participant recruitment at UHealth, JHS clinics, and community partners.
- Attend weekly and monthly Miami ECHO meetings and report to the Program Director.
- Collect participant data through home visits or online appointments.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant research experience.
- Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
