Research Associate 1 – Skin Research Lab

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Dermatology seeks a full‑time Research Associate 1 to support funded skin research projects. The role involves laboratory experiments, mouse colony management, and data analysis to advance understanding of human skin disorders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct laboratory assays, collect and analyze specimens, and maintain equipment.
• Monitor and handle transgenic mouse colonies, collect samples, and perform DNA, RNA, protein, and histology analyses.
• Document experimental procedures, results, and interpretations in detailed lab notes.
• Assist in preparing manuscripts, presentations, and grant materials.
• Maintain lab inventory, logs, and ensure compliance with university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, cell biology, genetics or related field.
• Hands‑on laboratory experience with solution preparation, dilutions, and safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, or weekends as needed.
