Research Associate 1

About the role

The HIHG Organized Research Lab at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Research Associate 1 to support laboratory research projects on‑site in Miami, FL. The role focuses on conducting experiments, maintaining cell cultures, and contributing to data analysis and publication efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and follow research protocols and procedures.
• Maintain and manipulate human iPSC cell lines, including passaging, counting, cryopreservation, and contamination monitoring.
• Perform molecular biology techniques such as RNA extraction and purification.
• Conduct protein biochemistry assays and routine laboratory tests.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Collect, analyze, and statistically evaluate experimental data.
• Document procedures and results accurately and ensure compliance with university and safety policies.
• Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and presentation of significant findings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• Strong learning agility to adopt new techniques and protocols.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Mammalian cell culture (including iPSC maintenance).
