About the role
The University of Miami seeks a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Informatics and Health Data Science to advance its research agenda. This faculty position supports the university’s goals in health data innovation and contributes to scientific knowledge through publications and collaborations.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct basic and applied research, design experiments, and analyze results.
- Author scientific papers, technical reports, and assist with patent preparations.
- Collaborate with senior staff and external partners to publish findings in refereed journals.
- Write extramural grant proposals and manage grant submissions.
- Maintain and provide access to experimental data for the research team.
- Acquire equipment and supplies needed for assigned projects.
Required profile
- Doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) in a relevant field.
- Minimum of one year of relevant research experience.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in critical decisions.
