Research Assistant – AI Ethics in Veterinary Publishing

About the role

We are seeking a Research Assistant to join the Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences department at Texas A&M University. The position supports a grant‑funded study examining the transparency and ethical use of artificial intelligence in veterinary scientific publishing. This part‑time, fixed‑term role is based in College Station, Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Develop concrete AI use‑case examples, including prompts and generated outputs, for inclusion in the study.
• Assist in designing, distributing, and managing surveys targeting veterinary journal editors.
• Collect, organize, and maintain data sets related to AI disclosure practices.
• Contribute to literature reviews and draft sections of manuscripts for publication.
• Identify and compile contact information for editors of veterinary journals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated research experience (preferred).
• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work bilingually is a plus.
