Remote RN Telecare Nurse Triage

About the role

The Registered Nurse (RN) Telecare Nurse Triage provides after‑hours clinical support for Orlando Health and its affiliated patients. Working remotely, the RN triages high‑volume patient inquiries, determines appropriate care pathways, and coordinates follow‑up.

Key responsibilities

• Receive inbound and outbound communications via phone, text, video, and electronic messaging.
• Assess patient conditions, ask targeted questions, and identify changes requiring escalation to emergency services, urgent care, or physician follow‑up.
• Develop and document care plans using Schmitt‑Thompson protocols and provide patient education.
• Perform “Ask a Nurse” duties, answer routine health questions, and process prescription refills per Orlando Health policy.
• Schedule same‑day or next‑day appointments when indicated and conduct follow‑up outreach for symptom management.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of all interactions and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and active RN licensure.
• Experience in telehealth, triage, or after‑hours nursing preferred.
• Strong critical‑thinking, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
