Remote Risk Service Consultant (Richmond, VA)

About the role

Sedgwick is hiring a Risk Service Consultant on a remote basis, open to candidates living near Richmond, Virginia. The role provides risk mitigation services to multiple clients, helps develop and deliver risk control service plans, takes part in large multi-analyst engagements, facilitates risk mitigation methods and procedures, and acts as liaison between Sedgwick colleagues and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect workplaces and work sites to identify and document violations of federal, state or local safety laws and to identify dangers for the company and clients.
• Participate in developing risk mitigation programs and procedures, including policies, standards, procedures, risk reduction strategies, training and vendor applications, and act as local liaison to vendors and other parties.
• Communicate loss reports, presentations, analyses, interpretations and advice and counsel.
• Maintain current knowledge of and adherence to internal policies, corporate directives and standard operating procedures.
• Participate in the development of new business, products and client retention, and in local professional advancement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned, support the organization's quality programs, and travel as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Safety, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
• Preferred certifications: GSP, CSP, ARM, PRC or OHST.
• Six years of related risk services experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with public entities, insurance or risk pooling is highly preferred.
• The candidate must be able to conduct site safety audits and construction and manufacturing safety audits and must live near Richmond, VA.
