Remote Process Engineer – Chemical Manufacturing

About the role

We are looking for a remote Process Engineer with deep expertise in chemical manufacturing to build high-fidelity digital workspaces that replicate real plant operations. The role is contract-based, paid hourly, and offers flexible, asynchronous collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Create structured digital environments including process flow diagrams, P&IDs, HAZOP reports, mass and energy balances, and operational documentation.
• Design multi-step, cross-functional workflows using tools such as Aspen Plus, CHEMKIN, ANSYS Fluent and manufacturing execution systems.
• Translate plant operations and safety procedures into clear task specifications and evaluation frameworks.
• Collaborate with domain experts to ensure realism, rigor, and benchmarking quality of the tasks.
• Produce technical writing deliverables that document processes and safety analyses.

Required profile

• Proven experience in process design, plant operations, process safety, R&D or EH&S compliance.
• Strong analytical thinking and ability to work independently in a fully remote setting.
• Flexibility to adapt schedules and deliver outputs on a weekly payout cycle.
