Remote Pharmacist – Telemedicine Pharmacy

About the role

Avel eCare is seeking a licensed pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients across its remote contracted facilities. This fully remote position supports tele‑medicine services, ensuring safe and effective medication use while improving patient quality of life.

Key responsibilities

• Review prescriber medication orders for safety, efficacy, and compliance with ASHP standards.
• Approve medications for dispensing using multiple Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Evaluate medication therapy and make evidence‑based recommendations to physicians and other prescribers.
• Provide drug information and counseling to healthcare professionals and patients.
• Document all activities accurately within the order management system.
• Maintain a customer‑service focus to foster strong relationships with remote facilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
• Hospital pharmacy experience or completion of an ASHP‑accredited residency preferred.
• Active pharmacist licensure in the residing state; licensure in KS, NE, or AR required within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clinicians via phone, written messages, or other channels.
• Knowledge of age‑specific medication considerations from neonates to geriatrics.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Experience using order management systems for medication dispensing.
