Remote Medical Biller

About the role

eandd is hiring a Medical Biller to work remotely, handling a high volume of insurance claims from submission through payment. The schedule is 8 am to 5 pm EST, Monday to Friday, with a one-hour lunch break from 12 to 1 pm. The salary range is $1,500 to $2,000 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit a high volume of insurance claims daily, managing the full billing workflow from claim creation through payment posting and account follow-up.
• Submit claims accurately to clearinghouses and monitor claim status, resolving billing issues proactively.
• Investigate, appeal and resolve claim rejections and denials, correct billing errors and resubmit claims.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Coordination of Benefits (COB) and apply CPT and HCPCS modifiers correctly according to payer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with insurance payer guidelines across multiple commercial and government payers.
• Communicate with healthcare providers about documentation and billing questions, and assist patients or guardians with billing inquiries and account balances.
• Collect payments by phone and set up payment arrangements while providing good customer service.

Required profile

• Extensive hands-on experience in medical billing with a proven track record of high claim volumes.
• Demonstrated success resolving claim rejections and denials through to payment.
• Experience managing the complete billing lifecycle, from submission through payment posting and collections.
• Ability to identify billing issues, correct claims and resubmit them with minimal supervision, and to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail-oriented, proactive and comfortable dealing with multiple insurance carriers and specialty practices.

Required skills

• Strong experience submitting claims to insurance clearinghouses.
• Thorough understanding of COB and solid knowledge of CPT/HCPCS coding modifiers.
• Solid understanding of insurance payer guidelines across multiple payers.
• Preferred: experience with AdvancedMD, direct communication with providers, patient billing support and phone payment collection.
