Remote Maintenance Planner – Mining Operations

About the role

The Maintenance Planner supports mining operations by planning and scheduling short‑ to medium‑term maintenance for mobile and fixed plant equipment, infrastructure and facilities. Working remotely, the role focuses on improving equipment availability, reducing unplanned downtime and ensuring maintenance is performed safely, efficiently and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, review and maintain rolling monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance plans, including equipment specifications and tracking files.
• Keep equipment maintenance history, work orders and technical information up to date in the database.
• Identify potential work using condition monitoring programs and financial‑based work packages, providing guidance to project teams.
• Develop weekly maintenance plans that maximise production while minimising downtime and cost.
• Align defect and breakdown repairs with periodic maintenance and provide weekly updates.
• Generate an optimised bill of materials for standard jobs under the maintenance strategy.
• Ensure work is completed within budget and resources, supporting cost‑effective use of labour and materials.
• Assist with procurement and freight of parts, using approved suppliers and ensuring proper storage reliability.
• Maintain accurate costing reports and supporting documentation.

Required profile

• Experience planning and scheduling maintenance for mining or heavy‑industry equipment.
• Familiarity with OEM specifications and condition monitoring processes.
• Ability to manage large data sets of maintenance history and work orders.
• Strong analytical skills to develop cost‑effective maintenance plans.
• Knowledge of procurement processes and parts logistics.
