Remote Credit Specialist – Rental & Finance

About the role

The Rental Credit Specialist supports Ryder's Rental, National Rental and Freight Management Group customers by evaluating creditworthiness, managing risk, and providing recommendations that enable sales growth while protecting the business.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales teams on credit requests for new and existing customers, including credit line increases.
• Assist lease analysts with preliminary credit reviews, gathering required documentation such as TLSA, nfusion information, and Ryder history.
• Review credit reports, company histories, and financial statements to assess credit risk.
• Monitor customer credit health, re‑evaluate exposure, and develop action plans to mitigate potential losses.
• Communicate high‑risk situations to stop‑loss, collections, sales, and operations via email or conference calls.
• Verify receipt of critical documentation (ACH amendments, cash deposits, guarantees, etc.) and manage the Credit Hold mailbox daily.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or equivalent experience.
• At least two years of commercial credit experience; financial statement analysis experience preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build professional relationships across the organization.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access (intermediate level).
• Experience with credit scoring systems such as Cortera or Equifax.
• Financial statement analysis and credit risk assessment.
