Remote Billing Representative

About the role

Ochsner is seeking a Remote Billing Representative to support its Accounts Receivable function. The role ensures accurate billing, cash collection, and resolution of patient account balances across the revenue cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Process billing inquiries and resolve account issues using internal software, reports, and payer websites.
• Communicate with payors, departmental leadership, and other revenue‑cycle teams to secure appropriate cash and adjudications.
• Handle bad debt, charity care, cash collections, and adjustments to improve AR days and reduce overdue balances.
• Provide feedback to improve billing processes and meet productivity and accuracy targets.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months of related experience in a hospital, clinic, medical office, or customer‑service environment; preferred 2 years.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows‑based applications and general computer software.
• Strong data‑entry and information‑retrieval abilities.
