Reliability Engineer – Onsite (Chattanooga, TN)

About the role

Support the Chattanooga site by developing and implementing reliability improvement systems in partnership with production and maintenance teams. The role focuses on enhancing asset availability, reducing recurring equipment failures, and integrating reliability considerations into capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Track and analyze asset reliability metrics such as MTBF, MTTR, availability and maintenance cost to prioritize improvement opportunities.
• Lead the Bad Actor Program, identifying chronic equipment issues, creating action plans and verifying sustained performance gains.
• Conduct root‑cause analyses for significant failures and ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective.
• Develop, monitor and optimize preventive, predictive and reliability‑centered maintenance strategies.
• Lead condition‑monitoring programs including vibration analysis, thermography and oil analysis, translating findings into maintenance actions.
• Provide technical support for equipment repair, replacement and upgrade decisions, and support capital projects through design review and equipment selection.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of equipment reliability, maintenance and operations in a chemical or manufacturing environment.
• Experience with preventive and predictive maintenance programs and equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to perform root‑cause failure analysis and develop practical reliability improvements.
