Reliability Engineer

About the role

Etched builds AI chips tailored to specific model architectures, and its Reliability Engineer ensures that all components and systems meet rigorous reliability standards for datacenter applications. The role requires a deep understanding of reliability engineering principles and experience working with suppliers, ODMs and JDMs. The team is fully in-person in Cupertino.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development, implementation and management of reliability standards for all suppliers, ensuring components and systems meet or exceed reliability benchmarks.
• Review and verify supplier reliability reports, give feedback and guide continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to set component selection criteria based on reliability performance.
• Evaluate and approve reliability test plans from external vendors, making sure they validate long-term reliability under expected operating conditions.
• Analyze reliability data from suppliers and vendors to identify trends, issues and improvement areas.
• Work with ODMs and JDMs to keep products up to Etched's quality and reliability standards, supporting maximum uptime.
• Establish reliability metrics and standards for silicon components for long-term reliability in data centers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of reliability engineering experience; datacenter applications preferred.
• Experience working with suppliers, ODMs and JDMs in a high-tech environment.
• Excellent communication skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.

Required skills

• Understanding of reliability standards, testing methodologies and data analysis techniques.
• DFMEA / PFMEA / SPC engineering analysis experience desired.
