Regulatory Counsel – Content and Consumer Protection

About the role
We are seeking a seasoned Regulatory Counsel to lead our Content and Consumer Protection efforts. The role will be part of a global team that advises on emerging legal issues related to content moderation, consumer rights, and artificial intelligence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal guidance on content moderation, secondary liability, and notice‑and‑takedown procedures.
- Advise internal stakeholders on compliance with Section 230, the Communications Decency Act, DMCA, EU Digital Services Act, and other relevant statutes.
- Engage with regulators such as state attorneys general, the FTC, the DOJ, and international digital media authorities.
- Monitor and interpret legislation affecting AI models, including the EU AI Act and U.S. state initiatives.
- Draft and review policies, contracts, and public statements to mitigate regulatory risk.
Required profile
- J.D., LL.B., or equivalent degree with admission to the bar in the work location.
- Minimum 7 years of attorney‑level experience in government, in‑house, or law‑firm settings.
- Proven track record handling regulatory, compliance, or corporate legal matters.
- Experience interacting with regulators and advising on digital‑media or consumer‑protection law.
Required skills
- Deep knowledge of Section 230, free‑speech protections, and the Communications Decency Act.
- Familiarity with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, EU Digital Services Act, and comparable international frameworks.
- Understanding of AI‑related legislation such as the EU AI Act and U.S. state AI statutes.
- Strong analytical and drafting abilities for complex regulatory issues.
