Regular Teacher – 9th‑12th Grade French/History (SY 26‑27)

About the role

This position is for a regular teacher of French and History for grades 9‑12 in the Chicago Public Schools for the anticipated school year 2026‑27. The teacher will work under the supervision of the principal and be responsible for delivering high‑quality instruction and fostering a positive learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver written lesson plans aligned with curriculum objectives.
• Assess student progress, maintain accurate records of achievements, and provide regular feedback.
• Implement contemporary teaching methods and manage classroom behavior in accordance with the Chicago Public Schools Uniform Discipline Code.
• Maintain attendance records, seating charts, and promote student self‑discipline.
• Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and school staff regarding academic performance and conduct.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school‑wide attendance and anti‑vandalism programs.
• Coordinate and attend field trips, and support extracurricular and after‑school activities.

Required profile

• Successful completion of all student‑teaching requirements and coursework required for an Illinois teaching certificate.
• Valid Illinois State Board of Education license (Professional Educator License or Educator License with Stipulations) endorsed for French/History.
• Strong knowledge of subject matter and contemporary principles of teaching and classroom management.
