Registered Polysomnographic Technologist

About the role

As a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist you will help identify the root cause of patients' sleep problems, develop personalized treatment plans, and support patients in achieving restful sleep. The position works night shifts (7:00 pm‑7:30 am) in the Sleep Lab at Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive polysomnographic testing, scoring analysis and related interventions.
• Supervise Polysomnographic Technicians and trainees.
• Review patient history, medications, test requests and study protocols.
• Prepare, calibrate and adjust sleep study equipment; apply electrodes and sensors according to standards.
• Fit positive airway pressure (PAP) masks and conduct PAP/oxygen titration studies.
• Monitor study‑tracing quality, ensure artifact‑free signals, and make adjustments as needed.
• Document observations, sleep stages, clinical events and complete post‑study paperwork.
• Assist with scoring sleep/wake stages and clinical events using center‑specific guidelines.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum three years experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
