Registered Pharmacist

About the role

Hy-Vee is hiring a Registered Pharmacist for its pharmacy in Windom. The position is non-exempt and reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers and the Pharmacy Department Manager. It combines patient care, prescription verification and customer service with pharmacy inventory and administrative duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, greet customers by name and escort them to products
• Fill and verify prescriptions and counsel patients in line with state and federal laws and OBRA '90 regulations
• Assist with pharmacy inventory, including controlled substances, and help with monthly and annual stock counts
• Order and stock merchandise, check invoices and enter inventory data into the computer
• Answer the telephone and assist with reconciliation and balancing of third-party accounts
• Visit schools, doctors' offices and senior centers to market services, and build sales through counseling and wellness programs
• Follow security and regulatory procedures, including quality assurance programs, and act as department head in the manager's absence
• Maintain a professional appearance, keep confidential customer medical information under HIPAA, and acknowledge exposure to hazardous drugs

Required profile

• College degree and pharmacy licensure, with continuing education to maintain the license
• Six months to a year of similar or related work experience
• Ability to do logical or scientific thinking, arithmetic and algebraic calculations, and to read technical manuals
• Preferred: Medication Therapy Management (MTM); ability to administer immunizations
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and to perform the listed physical activities

What we offer

• Anticipated hourly starting wage of $60.00 to $70.60 depending on experience
