Registered Nurse – Wound Care (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse specialized in wound care. You will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with complex wounds, collaborating closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and monitor vital signs.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient response, physician orders, and diagnostic test results.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while respecting age and cultural considerations.
• Provide psychological support and maintain a compassionate environment.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
• Participate in discharge planning and transition of care using best practices.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Active Registered Nurse license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Completion of a WOCN Society‑accredited wound‑management program or WOCNCB wound‑care certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably with wound‑care exposure.

Required skills

• Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing care methods.
• Understanding of health‑ and safety guidelines, including sanitation and decontamination.
• Excellent patient communication and education abilities.
