Registered Nurse - Surgical PCU (Night Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its 36-bed surgical unit in Altamonte Springs, Florida. The unit cares for a complex, acute population across specialty surgical service lines, including elective hip, knee and shoulder surgery, head and neck cancer care, and is growing thoracic and vascular surgery. The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm to 7:00 am) with weekend rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.

Required profile

• Associate of Science degree in Nursing.
• Current Florida or multistate Registered Nurse license.
• At least six months of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
