Registered Nurse – Surgery

About the role

Citizens Health is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the surgery department at Citizens Medical Center. The RN will work under the Surgery Manager, providing pre‑operative, intra‑operative and post‑operative care.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain supplies, prepare operating rooms, and maintain sterile fields for assigned surgeries.
• Scrub, assist, and pass instruments during procedures, performing counts according to policy.
• Take rotating mandatory surgery call and assist with instrument cleaning, stocking, and equipment checks.
• Document patient care, ensure consent forms are complete, and monitor recovery using PARS guidelines.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program with current Kansas Board of Nursing licensure.
• Completed Citizens Medical Center nursing orientation for the unit and general hospital orientation.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff across departments and follow nursing practice standards.
