Registered Nurse – Spinal & General Rehabilitation

About the role

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a specialized spinal and general rehabilitation setting. You will work on‑site at Froedtert Bluemound Rehabilitation Hospital, delivering patient‑centered care across a range of complex conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for inpatient rehabilitation patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support recovery from spinal cord injury, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological or orthopedic conditions.
• Utilize advanced therapy equipment such as functional electric stimulation, upper‑extremity robotics, and the ZeroG® unweighting system.
• Document patient progress, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure compliance with nursing standards.
• Educate patients and families on self‑care, mobility, and safe transfer techniques.

Required profile

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
• BSN degree preferred; non‑BSN nurses must enroll in a BSN program within 15 months of hire.
• Clinical competence in caring for adult rehabilitation patients with spinal cord injury, stroke, or related conditions.
• Ability to work 24 hours per week on a shift schedule (Shift 3).

Required skills

• Functional electric stimulation (FES) operation.
• Upper‑extremity robotics usage.
• ZeroG® unweighting system for gait training.
