About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks a per‑diem Registered Nurse to provide patient‑centered care in the Emergency Department. This part‑time, temporary position supports culturally competent, evidence‑based nursing practice.

Key responsibilities

Complete patient assessments, document interactions, and make referrals while considering age and cultural factors.
Administer medications and treatments, maintain accurate records, and reassess effectiveness of interventions.
Communicate care plans to patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Participate in policy development, discharge planning, and unit‑level quality improvement projects.

Required profile

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 4 years of relevant nursing experience.
Valid State of Florida RN license.
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.

Required skills

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
