Registered Nurse RN Vascular Access

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for its Vascular Access team in Celebration, Florida. The nurse manages venous access and infusion therapy, provides patient education and consults on IV therapy needs. The schedule is 07:00-19:15 with a 12-hour requirement every other weekend.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patients with current venous access issues, choosing the appropriate access type for age, therapy and complications, and intervene appropriately
• Evaluate the need for venous access, provide patient teaching and develop individualized plans of care for infusion therapy and venous access consults
• Assess patients' developmental level, dependency needs and available support systems
• Perform and document procedures and assessments per department policy, obtain patient assessments and administer treatments and medications after verifying physician orders
• Follow CDC guidelines for sterile technique, isolation and PPE, and function in Code Blue and other emergencies
• Maintain competency in venous access and infusion procedures, take part in quality improvement and support department standards
• Provide expert resourcing to staff nurses and other departments as consulted

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate's degree in nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state

Pay range: $31.85 - $52.76. Florida Level 2 background screening applies. The employer is an equal opportunity employer.
