Registered Nurse (RN) Specialist – Assisted Living

About the role

Monarch Communities Senior Living is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) Specialist for its two Assisted Living communities in Massachusetts. The role involves overseeing the Health and Wellness teams, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and monitoring and updating company policies and procedures. It requires travel between the two communities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the teams and assist with compliance, planning, assessments, directing, budget, staffing and hands-on care in line with state regulations and company policies
• Complete and ensure thorough periodic resident assessments, conduct compliance visits and audit care plans and documentation in EHR and EMAR
• Evaluate Health and Wellness Directors' competencies, implement their training and fill in for them on vacation or during vacancies
• Recruit, train and mentor directors, develop staffing and supply budgets, and lead the quality assurance program
• Lead nursing orientation and in-services, train and coach nursing staff, and participate in admissions, discharges and care conferences
• Monitor resident care data, run mock and complaint surveys, resolve resident grievances and communicate risks and sentinel events to the VP of Health & Wellness
• Serve on the Regional Leadership Team and attend corporate meetings as needed

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current RN license in Massachusetts
• At least 2 years' experience in long-term care, assisted living, home health or hospital settings preferred
• Experience with residents who have Alzheimer's or other dementias
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and knowledge of federal and state regulations and nursing practice

• Computer proficiency and ability to learn new applications
