Registered Nurse – Radiology Specialty (Per Diem)

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a Per Diem Registered Nurse specialized in radiology to deliver patient‑centered, culturally competent care. This role supports diagnostic imaging services by preparing patients, assisting with procedures, and ensuring safe medication administration.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and evaluate treatment plans.
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and symptoms.
• Modify care plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to guide patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and evaluate care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments, considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests within RN scope of practice, maintaining accurate records.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and team members while complying with HIPAA.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to support patient transitions.
• Operate radiology and medical equipment safely and adhere to university policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• No prior experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
