Registered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit, Days

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Progressive Care Unit in Land O Lakes, Florida, working the days shift (7:15am to 4:45pm). The role covers patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, patient education and documentation, with supervision and mentoring of nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans based on findings and diagnosis
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and monitor patient responses to adjust care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and document care in the electronic medical record
• Comply with regulations, accreditation standards and organizational policies, and take part in quality improvement
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, maintain a safe environment and respond promptly to emergencies

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN); Associate's degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Previous experience in a specialty area preferred
• Florida Level 2 background screening applies to certain positions

Required skills

• Nursing care methods and procedures, and accurate EMR documentation
• EKG knowledge (based on patient population)
• Preferred: Cerner, EPIC, previous EKG interpretation class, FCCS, CCNS, CEN, NRP-A, TNCC, PALS instructor, S.T.A.B.L.E.
