Lead Respiratory Therapist - Nights

About the role

AdventHealth Connerton is hiring a full-time Lead Respiratory Therapist for the night shift. The role covers initiating and conducting therapeutic procedures, responding to emergency codes and supervising respiratory care on the unit.

Key responsibilities

• Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures, maintain patient records and select, assemble, check and operate respiratory equipment.
• Respond to emergency codes, including airway maintenance, intubation, chest compressions and ventilator setup.
• Determine treatment requirements, including type, method, duration, precautions and medication dosages compatible with provider orders.
• Perform diagnostic testing as needed by the facility.
• Monitor patients' physiological responses to therapy (vital signs, arterial blood gases, blood chemistry) and consult providers on adverse reactions.

Required profile

• Associate's degree in respiratory therapy or cardiopulmonary science.
• 3+ years of hospital experience as an RRT and 1+ year of critical care experience.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license and BLS/CPR certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required; NRP and PALS preferred.
• Effective verbal and written English communication; additional languages preferred.
