Registered Nurse – PACT Outpatient Staff

About the role

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a Registered Nurse to join a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) providing outpatient services. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), offering loan repayment assistance to qualified candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to outpatients as part of the PACT team.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in accordance with VHA standards.
• Participate in the Education Debt Reduction Program if eligibility criteria are met.

Required profile

• Proficiency in written and spoken English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7403(f).
• Graduate of an ACEN‑ or CCNE‑accredited nursing program, or equivalent foreign nursing education with recognized equivalency evaluation.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted registration as a professional nurse in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
• Eligibility for a state nursing license; candidates without licensure may be appointed temporarily as a Graduate Nurse Technician (GNT) while pursuing licensure.

Required skills

• English language proficiency.
• Active, unrestricted nursing license.
• Familiarity with accredited nursing education standards (ACEN, CCNE).

What we offer

• Eligibility period ranging from one to five years, determined after application review.
