Registered Nurse - Outpatient Infusion PRN

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Registered Nurse for its outpatient infusion service in Lenexa, Kansas, on a PRN basis during day shifts. The nurse provides assessment, care planning and medication administration to patients receiving infusion therapy.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, regularly reviewing and revising them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license required; additional licensure or certification may apply depending on the unit or state.
• Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing).
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• Ability to use abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
• 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Teamwork and organizational, multi-tasking skills.
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• EKG (based on patient need).

Certifications such as BLS, CCNS, NEONATAL MED, PEARS, RDMS-OBGYN, TNCC, ABLS, CCRN-E and others are listed as preferred. Pay range: $32.83 - $61.05.
