Registered Nurse – Orthopedics (Full-Time)

About the role

The competent Registered Nurse in orthopedics practices independently, delivering both routine and complex patient care while planning long‑range goals and managing clinical contingencies. The role includes assigning tasks and delegating to other care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, monitoring for side‑effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and deliver education to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate tasks to other care providers.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• RN license in the state of employment or compact.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty (preferred).
• Meets OneCHRISTUS competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
