Registered Nurse – Orthopedic Clinic (Full‑time)

About the role

The Department of Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the University of Miami is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse 1 to provide patient‑family centered care in an orthopedic clinic setting. The role focuses on delivering culturally competent, evidence‑based nursing services to a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results to evaluate patient condition.
• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance and smooth transitions.
• Assist with discharge planning using available resources.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment appropriately.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• No prior experience required; entry‑level candidates are welcome.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to shifting priorities.
• Strong teamwork orientation and collaborative mindset.
