Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System seeks a Registered Nurse to provide patient‑family centered care on a Medical‑Surgical Telemetry unit. The RN will deliver evidence‑based care, supervise allied staff, and ensure safety and quality for a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, report changes in condition, and modify treatment plans per physician orders.
• Review and evaluate diagnostic tests, consult with physicians and other professionals to develop and adjust care plans.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age, culture, and psychological support.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance and smooth transitions.
• Assist with discharge planning and utilize resources to support patient transitions.
• Prioritize assignments, adapt to changing demands, and operate medical equipment safely.
• Serve as a preceptor, mentoring new staff and providing constructive feedback.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
• Valid State of Florida RN license.
• Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and relevant computer applications.
