Registered Nurse – OR Circulator

About the role

The Eye Surgery Center of East Texas is seeking a Registered Nurse to serve as an Operating Room (OR) Circulator. The RN will supervise patient care in a dedicated OR, ensure compliance with standards, and support the surgical team throughout procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and direct patient care in a single operating room, ensuring adherence to accepted standards of practice.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect patient rights.
• Document unusual occurrences promptly and accurately in patient records.
• Coordinate with physicians, charge nurses, and other departments to ensure seamless patient flow.
• Perform circulator duties: position patients, prepare the operative area, manage supplies, open sterile packs, and count sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists as needed and monitor patients for changes in condition.
• Participate in continuing education, staff meetings, and quality improvement programs.

Required profile

• Active RN license in the state of Texas.
• Experience in operating room nursing, preferably with circulator responsibilities.
• Ability to supervise staff and act as a primary nursing point of accountability.
• Strong communication skills and ethical practice within legal scope.
