Registered Nurse – Neuro Intensive Care

About the role

The Neuro Intensive Care Department at the University of Miami Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high‑quality patient care in a fast‑paced ICU environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review diagnostic tests, consult with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, and assist with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory guidelines.
• Provide patient and family education, psychological support, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, offering feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN acceptable with 2‑year BSN completion plan).
• Valid Florida Registered Nurse license.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of intensive care nursing experience.
