Registered Nurse - Medical Telemetry, Night Shift

About the role

AdventHealth in Minneola, Florida is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Medical Telemetry unit working nights (7:00 pm to 7:00 am). The schedule is 36 hours per week. The pay range is $31.85 to $52.76.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, reviewing and revising them as needed.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, medications and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions and outcomes in the medical record.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) license (required).
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Fluent in English, read, spoken and written.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (required).
• 1+ year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Additional licensure or certification may be required depending on the unit or state.

Required skills

• Knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures.
• Ability to work as a team player within a unit.
• Effective verbal and oral communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions and revise the plan of care.
• Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
• EKG monitoring (requirements depend on the patient).
