Occupational Therapist (Part-Time, Day Shift)

About the role

AdventHealth in Minneola, Florida is hiring a part-time Occupational Therapist on a day shift (Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, 9:00-3:30 pm). The role covers evaluation, treatment planning, patient discharge and supervision of OT assistants, with a pay range of $31.86-$59.27.

Key responsibilities

• Perform evaluations and re-evaluations using recommended techniques and standards.
• Establish, implement and adapt individualized treatment plans, including goal setting, treatment activities and frequency.
• Document accurately, completely and timely using measurable and objective terminology.
• Identify the need for patient and caregiver education and use teaching opportunities, including discharge recommendations.
• Discharge patients when maximum benefit is achieved or according to practice standards and payer guidelines.
• Charge patients accurately, timely and legibly.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, use evidence-based practices and serve as a clinical instructor; support quality standards and performance improvement.
• Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides.
• Practice employee and patient safety, manage time efficiently and adjust work hours to patient needs.
• Support community outreach through events, lectures and other extensions of clinical expertise.

Required profile

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) and Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA); temporary OT license required.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required.
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English; effective communication with patients, staff, physicians, nurses and administrators.
• Master's degree preferred; education must meet the licensing or certification standards of the relevant body.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Windows.
• Electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
