EMS Transport EMT

About the role

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida is hiring a full-time EMS Transport EMT on a day-weekend shift. The role covers transporting patients, documenting care and keeping the ambulance ready, working alongside registered nurses and paramedics.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate delays and updates to dispatch and report damage or vehicle issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Follow department SOPs and keep patient documentation accurate, complete and compliant.
• Report findings and patient conditions to registered nurses, paramedics and other personnel.
• Help set up ventilators, cardiac monitors, IV lines and pumps.
• Chart and document care for BLS patients and give receiving staff a full patient report.
• Mobilize and transport patients, and monitor their condition.
• Complete the patient care record within the state's 24-hour limit.
• Maintain equipment between transports and operate emergency vehicles safely in all conditions.

Required profile

• Associate degree preferred, in a health-related field, and graduation from an EMT program.
• 1+ year of emergency vehicle operation experience, 2+ years of technical experience and ambulance transport experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and an EMT or EMT-Advanced certification.
• Driver's license or commercial driver's license; CEVO or EVOC preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak conversational English.

Required skills

• Clear communication of patient conditions, status and arrival times to receiving facilities.
• Data analysis and assessment of equipment and quality control.
• Recognition of life-threatening conditions and provision of emergency care and transport.
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
