Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry & Oncology Overflow

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to work on the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit with oncology overflow responsibilities. The RN will deliver patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based manner.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Report changes in patient condition, vital signs, and diagnostic test results to the care team.
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments while considering age and cultural factors.
• Administer medications safely, maintain accurate medication records, and operate medical equipment.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and guidance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN acceptable with 2‑year BSN completion plan).
• Valid Florida RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications.
• Minimum two years of nursing experience, preferably in medical‑surgical telemetry or oncology settings.

Required skills

• ACLS certification.
• BLS certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and nursing care methods.
