Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical Telemetry (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the Medical Surgical Telemetry unit at UHealth Tower. The RN will provide patient‑family centered care in a culturally competent, evidence‑based environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assess assigned patients, document nursing care, and modify treatment plans based on patient response and physician orders.
• Review and report diagnostic test results, consult with physicians and allied health professionals, and prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Administer medications and perform patient tests safely, maintaining accurate records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and the care team, ensuring HIPAA compliance and effective transition of care.
• Plan and prioritize assignments, operate medical equipment, and assist with discharge planning.
• Serve as a preceptor for new staff, providing feedback and supporting their integration into the unit.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred (ASN graduates must complete BSN within 2 years).
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Florida.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver culturally competent, patient‑focused care.
