Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery Night Shift

About the role

Citizens Health is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to provide night‑shift care in the Labor & Delivery unit at Citizens Medical Center, a 25‑bed critical access hospital in Colby, KS. The RN will work under the Nurse Manager to deliver safe, evidence‑based care to mothers and newborns from 6 PM to 6 AM.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care throughout labor, delivery, and postpartum periods using the nursing process.
• Assess maternal and fetal status, interpret fetal monitoring, and administer medications safely.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans and patient/family education.
• Collaborate with ancillary staff and maintain professional nursing standards.

Required profile

• Current Kansas RN license with at least one year OB experience.
• Current CPR certification (or obtain within 30 days of hire).
• Strong critical‑thinking, rapid decision‑making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work night shifts and maintain a professional, team‑oriented attitude.
