Registered Nurse - Inpatient MedSurg

About the role

The competent Registered Nurse will work in an inpatient medical‑surgical unit, providing both routine and complex patient care independently. The role requires the ability to develop long‑range care plans, manage clinical contingencies, and delegate tasks to other care providers as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Demonstrate OneCHRISTUS competencies (Leader of Self, Leader of Others, Leader of Leaders).
• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to protocol, monitoring for side‑effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and educate patients, families, and caregivers, identifying resources and issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Active RN license in the state of employment or a compact license.
• Availability to work a 7 AM – 7 PM full‑time schedule.
