Registered Nurse – Infusion Oncology (Full-time)

About the role

The Registered Nurse – Infusion Oncology provides direct patient care within the Hope Oncology clinic at the UT Tyler Health Science Center. The RN delivers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, supports patients throughout their cancer journey, and collaborates with an interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Administer intravenous chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other oncology medications according to protocols.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions and manage emergency situations as they arise.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Assist with clinic operations, including preparation of infusion equipment and supplies.
• Identify and help reduce unsafe practices to protect patient safety.
• Provide education and support to patients, families, and clinic staff.

Required profile

• Graduated from an accredited RN program and holds a current Texas RN license.
• Clinical experience in oncology or a clinic setting preferred.
• Current CPR Healthcare Provider certification.
• OCN certification preferred within 24 months of hire; 12 oncology CEUs required annually if not certified.
• Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certificate of added qualification preferred within 90 days of hire.

Required skills

• EMR proficiency.
• Operation of IV pumps and infusion equipment.
• Administration of chemotherapy and immunotherapy agents.
• CPR and basic life support.
