Registered Nurse - Hematology/Oncology

About the role

aoncology is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Central Georgia Cancer Care centre. The nurse delivers safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy and biotherapy, and works closely with a multidisciplinary team. The pay range is $24.83 - $40.80.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, review labs and vital signs, verify doses and administer medications safely, using ONS standards and guidelines.
• Dispose of biohazardous waste correctly per OSHA and NIOSH guidelines.
• Educate patients and caregivers about medications, side effects and the planned treatment, and document care thoroughly in the EMR.
• Handle telephone triage, prioritising calls from patients, families, hospitals, pharmacies and physicians.
• Help with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, and assist in training new employees.
• Complete annual safety and nursing trainings, attend mandatory staff meetings and follow company policies and the disaster plan.
• Work at any company location as needed and work overtime when given sufficient notice.

Required profile

• Nursing degree and an unencumbered RN licence in the state of employment or a multi-state licence.
• Current CPR and BLS certifications and a valid driver's licence.
• Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting.
• Fluent English with excellent oral and written communication.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-site environment and to work remotely when required.
