Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

About the role

Lehigh Valley Health Network seeks a Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care in the Emergency Room at Lehigh Valley Hospital‑Carbon. The role involves comprehensive patient assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in line with facility policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for designated patients, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members.
• Utilize evidence‑based practice, participate in quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to performance improvement processes.
• Provide patient and family education, coordinate transitions of care, and perform validated technical skills specific to the unit.
• Mentor new colleagues and interns, delegate tasks appropriately, and support unit and hospital goals.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with current knowledge of nursing practice.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver patient care effectively.
• Successful completion of orientation programs and maintenance of unit‑specific competencies.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required upon hire (Pennsylvania).

Required skills

• Basic computer skills.
• Proficiency in using clinical technology and electronic health record systems.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
