Mammography Technologist – Per Diem

About the role

The Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Per Diem Mammography Technologist to join its Breast Health Services team. You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, ensure equipment quality, and support patient safety in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform breast imaging exams, including screening and diagnostic mammography, following ACR positioning guidelines.
• Conduct quality control on mammography equipment and diagnostic workstations, and report any issues for timely repair.
• Verify patient identification, review imaging orders, explain procedures, and document accurate information in the EMR.
• Assist with clerical duties such as appointment scheduling and maintain a clean, well‑stocked imaging suite.

Required profile

• Graduate of an AMA‑approved Radiologic Technology program (Diploma or Associate’s degree).
• Less than 1 year of experience in screening and diagnostic mammography (or 1 year with digital/3D mammography).
• Flexibility to work varied hours and locations as needed.
• Current or obtain within 60 days: BLS certification (American Heart Association).

Required skills

• Radiologic Technology certification (RT – Registered Technologist Radiology).
• Certified Mammography Technologist (CMT) credential.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Proficiency with digital and 3D mammography equipment and related quality‑control procedures.
